Vish has been recognized as a shining example of British entrepreneurial flair after securing a finalist place in HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards 2020.
Vish is in the running to win the Innovation of the Year award. The accolade recognizes the top six UK entrepreneurs within the hairdressing industry who have recently made their business dream a reality. The category is open to anyone who has launched a brand-new idea to the hairdressing industry.
Vish impressed a host of industry judges with their business plan, and how planned aims and objectives translated into evidenced success after the product’s inception. Marketing prowess was also factored in, with the judging panel wanting to see strong promotional skills which delivered the innovation successfully to market.
HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards, now in its 22nd year, promote professionalism, innovation and excellence, while recognizing those individuals and teams who work tirelessly to raise the profile of the hairdressing industry and make it attractive to new entrants while keeping it at the forefront of the mind of the consumer.
Commenting on the announcement, Jayne Lewis-Orr, executive director of HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards said; “To be named as a finalist in the Innovation of the Year category confirms just how exceptional Vish is. This has been a tough year for all businesses, yet Vish has remained resilient, crafting an amazing business concept that fills a need in the market.
“To launch a new initiative from scratch takes huge amounts of passion and unrelenting commitment. It’s no wonder that Vish attracted so much attention with their entry because it was full of individuality, founded on brilliant business structure and marketing ideas. We wish the team at Vish the best of luck.”
On their success, Tom Bentley-Taylor, Managing Director in EMEA for Vish Ltd says: “It’s been a strange year but reaching the finals of these awards just confirms that all our hard work has been worth it. We never lost hope in our idea, and to now see it recognised by the industry has been incredibly rewarding.”
Vish will find out if we have achieved the top spot at an awards evening on Monday 25th January at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
Currently there are now more than 43,000 hair and beauty businesses in the UK, following a 45% increase over the past five years. It is reported that hair and beauty businesses also have higher survival rates after five years than many other sectors.* It’s easy to see why the appointment books of UK salons are now full for the next few months following the nationwide lockdown and it is clear that the value of a professional service is held in high regard.
