Over 1,000 Florida salons entered. Only 5 made the cut. After plenty of backbar chaos, big dreams, and standout stories, it’s now your turn to decide who wins the Color Bar Makeover!

Salon INXS

(Winter Springs, FL)

Salon INXS has been doing hair in Winter Springs for more than 30 years. That’s longer than some of their clients have been alive, and they’re still the busiest spot on Red Bug Lake Road. With a team of around 50, this full-service salon and day spa covers everything from cut and color to microblading, lashes, and skin.

Every stylist trains in-house before they ever get a spot on the floor. Each year they also host a charity fashion show to give back to the community. A Color Bar Makeover would give a color space that handles this much volume a setup that can keep up with them.

OxyOxy Beauty Hair Salon & Beauty

(Orlando, FL)

Oksana opened her first salon in Ukraine in 2005, then moved to the U.S. three years ago and started from scratch. She learned English, earned her Florida license in April 2024, and went from renting a single room to owning her own salon.

Two months ago, Oxyoxy moved into a brand-new building, and Oksana has been upgrading it piece by piece ever since. She’s been dreaming of a color bar revamp, and a Color Bar Makeover would turn that dream into the next big step.

Virasana Salon

(Venice, FL)

Virasana is a yoga pose, and it means “hero pose.” That fits a salon that opened in April 2019 and then had to shut down on its first anniversary. Instead of folding, the team came out of COVID stronger and more tight-knit than ever. Next April, this eco-conscious, four-chair studio on the Island of Venice celebrates eight years. They’re known for curly hair, extensions, and custom color, and they’re big on education. The owner calls it a place where she grows future stylists, and she’s invested heavily in classes and trips to help her team level up. She’ll tell you herself that her team works incredibly hard. The color bar, though? A little chaotic. A Color Bar Makeover would give them the space they deserve.

Somewhere on 47th Terrace

(Cape Coral, FL)

Here’s an origin story for you: a Marine and his high school sweetheart walk into her salon, she hands him a client and says “wash her hair,” and the rest is history. Bob King went to hair school in 1995, became a Paul Mitchell educator, and eight years ago opened Somewhere on 47th Terrace with his wife. They rebuilt after Hurricane Ian and went from 3 chairs to 14, with a team of renters and commission stylists who are all about two things: great hair and a really good time.

Bob has his sights set on becoming the biggest salon in Cape Coral, and a Color Bar Makeover would give the color space the upgrade to match.

Salon EnVogue

(Melbourne, Fl)

While everyone else was running to suites and rentals, Skyyler Lorrain went the other way. She’s been in the industry for nearly 30 years. She started as a commission stylist, then spent more than a decade freelancing and educating before going after her own business goals.

She opened Salon EnVogue in February to bring back the real team salon, where education and culture come first. The front of the salon is modern and sharp, but the color bar hasn’t caught up yet. A Color Bar Makeover would give the whole space a look that matches the vision.
